Roadmap of Upcoming Features in mSecure

6.1 was just the beginning of a long line of features we have planned for mSecure. Check out what we have planned next for your favorite digital wallet and password manager:

Windows Browser Extensions
We’ve experienced many setbacks with adding support for the Windows browser extensions, which is caused by security restrictions Microsoft implements on UWP apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store. We have figured out a way to support the extensions, so it is priority number one for mSecure development for the Windows version.

Device Sign-In Statistics
Users will be able to see which devices have signed in to their account and when. It will allow the user to reject devices as well in the event the user believes it’s unauthorized.

Hide from Main View
Provide users with the ability to make certain sets of records hidden from the main view.

Have I Been Pwned integration
HIBP is a popular online service that allows you to check if any of your accounts have been compromised. A new feature coming in our Security Center is the ability for mSecure to automatically check all of your sites for any issues. If a login has been compromised, you’ll receive a notification letting you know so you can respond to it.

Sign In to Multiple Accounts
Makes it easy for users to manage different mSecure accounts. This is helpful for people who manage data for other mSecure users and need a simple way to move from one account to another.

Emergency Access
This feature will allow a user to specify another user to be able to access their data in an emergency situation. If the user doesn’t respond within a set period of time, the specified user will then get access to all of the records in the user’s account.

Record linking
Make it possible to associate/link one record with another. The most typical problem this solves is quickly finding the credit card used for recurring payments for a particular account or service. For example, let’s say you’re using your Visa card for automatic payments to Netflix, Hulu, Gym membership, etc. You’ll be able to link the credit card to your Netflix, Hulu, and Gym Login records so that when your bank issues a new credit card, you can quickly see which accounts need to be updated.

Expiration Dates for Records
This one goes hand-in-hand with the main reason we’re adding the record-linking feature. Credit Records would have an expiration date and users would be notified of when this was going to happen. When the credit card was ready to expire, the user would be able to quickly find all of the Logins related to it for easier resolution.

Improvements to our browser plugins
We now have auto-login support for Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. We have plans to update the extensions with support for credit card auto-fill as well. In addition, we plan to add support for other browsers in response to your feedback.

Auto-Fill OTP Fields
This feature makes it possible to auto-fill a One-Time Password for Login records where 2-factor authentication is enabled. It may only be supported through the Browser Extensions, but we’ll be looking into whether it can be done with the iOS and Mac Safari AutoFill as well as the Android Autofill features.

Family Plans (Full support added in 6.1)
Users will be able to subscribe to a family plan to receive substantial discounts on multiple subscription seats. These subscriptions can be applied to mSecure accounts used by members of your family.

Team Plans (Full support added in v6.1)
Users will be able to subscribe to a team plan to receive substantial discounts on multiple subscription seats for their business. These subscriptions can be applied to mSecure accounts used by members of your team, allowing for a large mass of accounts to be under one subscription with ease.

Two-Factor Authentication via Yubikey (2FA via SMS, Authenticator, and Email added in 6.1. Yubikey has been deferred.)
For those wanting extra protection against unwarranted access to their sensitive information, mSecure will support 2FA via Yubikey. For desktop computers, plug in the Yubikey and touch it, and for mobile devices with NFC capabilities, simply tap the device to authenticate.

Password History (Full support added in 6.1)
When a user changes their password for mSecure or for records with a password type field, a history will be kept making it possible for them to see passwords they’ve used in the past.

More/better Attachment support (Full attachment support added in 6.1. Any file type can now be added as an attachment.)
Allow any file to be added to an mSecure record for safekeeping. Allow the ability to modify an attachment and re-save. Implement automatic deletion of exported unencrypted versions of the file when mSecure locks.
