mSecure is designed to be simple on the surface while offering powerful tools under the hood. Whether you’ve been using mSecure for years or just got started, there are features that can help you work faster, stay organized, and improve your security.
mSecure 7 added a lot to that list. Here are the features worth a second look — some brand new, some that have been there all along.
Sign In Without a Password Using Passkeys
Passkeys are the biggest change in mSecure 7. Instead of typing a password, you sign in to supported sites with Face ID or Touch ID.
There’s nothing to remember, nothing to type, and nothing for a phishing site to steal — a passkey only works on the site it was created for. If you haven’t created one yet, start with a site you sign in to often and see how much faster it feels.
Keep Your 2FA Codes Next to Your Logins
mSecure 7 generates one-time passwords right inside the record they belong to. No separate authenticator app, no switching back and forth to copy a six-digit code before it expires.
If you’re still using a standalone authenticator, moving those codes into mSecure means your login and your second factor live in the same place, protected by the same encryption.
See Where Two-Factor Is Worth Turning On
The Security Center gives you a high-level view of your vault’s health, including which of your logins are Two-Factor Aware — meaning the site supports two-factor authentication.
It’s the fastest way to find accounts where you could add a layer of protection but haven’t yet.
Search Faster with Special Characters
Searching in mSecure goes beyond typing a keyword. Special characters let you narrow results instantly:

These are especially useful with a large vault or lots of similar record names. In mSecure 7 the search bar stays pinned to the top, so it’s always ready when you need it.
Customize Fields for Your Data
Not every record fits neatly into the default fields, and that’s fine. mSecure lets you rename fields, change input types, and adjust how information is displayed inside a record — so a passport record looks like a passport rather than a login with everything crammed into a notes field.
It’s a small thing that makes records much more useful over time.

Save the Views You Use Most with Custom Filters
Custom filters, new in mSecure 7, let you save a combination of tags, templates, and vaults as a single view you can return to in one tap.
If you find yourself narrowing to the same set of records over and over — work logins, travel documents, everything shared with your family — save it once instead of rebuilding it every time.
Generate Strong Passwords Without Thinking About It
Strong passwords shouldn’t be hard – or reused.
mSecure’s built-in password generator helps you create unique, secure passwords instantly. You can customize:

Store Documents Alongside the Records They Belong To
You can attach files directly to any record, which is ideal for keeping documents with related information:

Every attachment is encrypted and available whenever you need it.
Edit Multiple Records at Once on Desktop
In the Mac and Windows apps, you can select several records and apply changes to all of them at once. It’s the quickest way to clean up a vault that’s grown over the years.
In one pass you can:

Organize with Tags and Icons
Tags give you a powerful way to organize records without relying solely on templates or folders.
By tagging records consistently, you can easily group information by:

Tags make filtering fast and keep your vault adaptable as your needs change.
Use Custom Icons for Instant Recognition
Visual cues matter more than you think.
Custom record icons help you:

A little visual organization can go a long way in daily use.
Share What You Choose, Not Everything
mSecure lets you create separate vaults and share them with people you trust, so family members can access shared logins or emergency information without seeing your entire vault.
mSecure 7 added the Sharing Center, one place to manage your vaults and everything shared with you — so it’s always clear what’s being shared and with whom.
